FACTS: Our client, who was a self-employed taxi driver in New York City, was walking to the Port Authority to catch a bus home to New Jersey after completing his shift. As he was crossing the street, he was struck by a taxi cab that was backing up the wrong way on the street to try and park his vehicle, and thrown to the ground, sustaining a left wrist fracture, left tibial plateau fracture and right ankle sprain. The case was settled with the defendant and through client’s UIM policy for a total of $500,000.
